EastEnders: Ben and Callum to Unite Over Tragic News

 

EastEnders will be airing some heartbreaking scenes over the next few months after Lola Pearce's brain tumour diagnosis in upcoming scenes.

Viewers have been desperate to see Ben and Callum reunite following Ben's sexual assault, with writers teasing us on a weekly basis, but it looks like the tragic events which are about to fall upon the mother of his child will see the pair grow closer as he struggles with the news.

Next week Lola is left panicking when Lexi's pageant dress rips before the show, rushing over to Chelsea's to ask Felix to help with hours to spare.

Afterwards Lola invites Callum to come and watch Lexi perform, this creates an awkward moment between him and Ben when he arrives.

At the pageant, Ben is about to share some bad news with Callum, but the pair are interrupted by Jay, but tragedy strikes when Lola has another dizzy spell, followed by a seizure on the floor of the toilets.

Jay and Ben rush to help Lola, calling an ambulance and left wondering what could have caused the collapse.

At the hospital a CT scan reveals the growth on Lola's brain. She and Jay are left gobsmacked by the diagnosis.

With Jay by Lola's side, the news will also hit Ben Mitchell particularly bad, especially as they share a daughter together.

The scenes over the coming weeks will see Lola wrestle with her diagnosis as every potential outcome rush through her mind, as well as the scary thought of not being around to see her daughter grow up.

As the news reaches Lola's close circle of friends and family, we will see Callum and Ben grow closer as the police officer does all he can to support his estranged husband.

Speaking about Lola's tragic storyline, Danielle Harold who plays her revealed: "It means so much to be trusted with a storyline like this – one that's close to many people’s hearts.

"Sadly many of our viewers will be able to relate to Lola's story and it's been heartbreaking to speak to the families affected by brain tumours and hear their stories.

"They've been so amazing in sharing their experiences with me, and I'm so lucky to have them. I wouldn't be able to do this storyline without their support."

EastEnders kicks off Lola's story next week on BBC One.
