Many viewers aired their frustration with EastEnders in recent weeks after discovering that Lola Pearce would be killed off, but soap boss Chris Clenshaw has given his reasons for having to write Danielle Harold's character out for good.
"It’s such an important issue to tell, and Danielle is doing a phenomenal job," he told The Radio Times.
"When you play big stories it has to be with characters you love. Lola is a much-loved character – she has grown up in Walford and is very close to the audience’s heart, which is why her story matters so much. We wouldn’t do this story with [just] anyone, but it is an important story that needs to be told."
It’s always tough and we don’t like to say goodbye." he continued. "I wanted Lola and Jay back together, especially for this story. Although I probably would have found a way to reunite them, as I think they’re meant to be together."

ReplyDeleteYes it is important but why Lola, but than you want change it anyway, and now Keeraht left he was such a goos actor, maybe didn't like his line, Ans stupid Janine is staying, you should have given her Lola's part but than maybe you want her to come back in a few years!

I have watched from the beginning but lately I.m not bothered if I miss it stupid story with Ravi and that fam.!
100% agree some of the story lines are ridiculous they're also all incestuous, they all been in prison.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the story is an important one but why bring so much heartbreak to her daughter ,Jay etc. and lose a favourite character with great acting skills. Why not Dotti she wouldn’t have been missed as much and is like a spare part most of the time.

Yer the Janine and Mick storyline is getting boring Now But Janine is a good Actress. And I agree Christmas should be a good one for a change. Life is hard and sad enough as it is at the moment.

ReplyDeleteI don't agree with the story to be honest.i know it happens in real life but as many others have said .... It could've been someone else. Poor jay has been through enough loss and heartache to last a lifetime on the screen. Make it a miracle and kill off someone else .... Like Janine 😂
ReplyDeleteI personally think it’s a great story line and awareness as it’s happening to more and more people like myself I’m 33 and got diagnosed last year in September with a glioblastoma and still struggle to come to terms with this awful disease I do feel for her daughter and jay but that’s life I have a husband and 4 beautiful children that I would love to spend the rest of my life with but unfortunately I’ve been given no more than 10 years to live.
