Viewers will be thrilled to learn that Linda Carter will make her return to Albert Square next week after taking time away following Mick's disappearance.
With the Vic closed since Christmas, Alfie comes up with an idea to reopen and help make Linda some money in her absence, but it seems he has an ulterior motive.
When Alfie remembers he gave a set of Vic keys to Denise, he asks Patrick Trueman to help swipe them, and with the prospect of enjoying a drink in his local again, Patrick jumps on board with the idea.
Later, Denise is shocked when she discovers the Vic is open and full of customers, but when she walks in she's horrified to learn Patrick has been handing out free drinks to everyone.
As Alfie continues pouring drinks, he comes up with an idea of arranging a summer party in January, to help with the January blues.
Unfortunately for Alfie, When Kim hears about the planned event, she tells Sharon who later makes a phone call.
With the summer party in full swing, Alfie is thrilled by how well the day is going, that is until Linda bursts through the door.
As Sharon takes the children back to hers, Linda accuses Alfie and the locals of not caring about Mick.
Desperate to make it up to her, Alfie arranges for a vigil with Mick's closest friends, but things take a turn when the police arrive with an update.
What new information do they have?
EastEnders air these scenes next week on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
