Sharon Marshall confirmed on This Morning that there will be no Coronation Street style train crash in EastEnders: “No it’s not going to happen, it’s not going to be like Coronation Street.
“I know a lot of people are thinking ‘oh Linda (Shirley) was on the Tube, is that going to be involved?’… No it’s not going to be that.”
In response to the number of people commenting on social media about the similarities to the terrorist attack in Berlin, EastEnders released a statement to The Sun saying: “’EastEnders’ is a fictional drama and the crash in tonight’s episode was not based on any real-life event.
“We are always mindful of the content within our episodes.”
While the show did see a
vehicle crash through the Square, the similarities end there, as it was a
bus, not a lorry, that caused the carnage in the soap.

But there was alot of the character's names on the list and Shirley and her mum n sister were mentioned in the crash and also a few others so about 37 of them were on the list of crash so what happens to the rest of them
ReplyDeleteThe list was only a list if people in the episode not necessarily the crash itself
DeleteSo why show the scenes of the train if nothing happens with the train
ReplyDeletethe bit with the train is just to show how they are stuck unaware of whats going on and also to offer light relief with the sing-song scene.
ReplyDeleteI seen more of a similarity to the Glasgow bin lorry than the Berlin terrorist attack, but either way these things do happen, n if the show didn't do things that could happen then it wouldn't be a soap would it? Lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's more like the bin lorry crash in Glasgow. The driver became unwell behind the wheel and had no control. Don't say it's not based on real events when it was quite clearly inspired by them. It's the essence that counts not the vehicle.

ReplyDeleteGood god it's a frickin' soap lmao! People just need to watch it for what it is as opposed to comparing it to things it's not. Wrestling is fake and you don't see anyone complaining "It's like that time two men fought in Berlin." Ugh..
