EastEnders: Is it time for the Slater twins to come home?

Some years ago it was revealed that Kat Slater unknowingly gave birth to twins when she was a child herself, but the family reunion didn't go as planned when Kat and Alfie paid her long-lost son a visit during the EastEnders spin-off, Redwater.

Both Luke and Zoe Slater are living their lives in separate countries, and the 37 year-old's have never met. Viewers have been asking for some time for writers to bring the twins home to Walford, but how would that work?

We know Michelle Ryan who played Zoe has repeated numerous times that she has no intention in returning to the soap, seeing her appearance on EastEnders as an apprenticeship. So that means a recasting.

Oisín Stack who played Luke Slater (Dermott Dolan) in Redwater is very busy with other projects, so maybe a recasting would be necessary there also, but it would be very doable.

We have Alfie Moon who has been missing for some time after stealing money from Phil Mitchell and fleeing Walford, but soap bosses have hinted at Alfie's return in the future.

Simply recasting Zoe and Luke, and bringing back Alfie, whose whereabouts remain unknown, could create a huge storyline for 2022/23.

Things have changed immeasurably since Alfie fled Walford, with Kat and Phil now a couple, this could actually help Alfie's return to Albert Square without too much drama from the Mitchell's.
