Charlie Brooks teased fans back in 2017 that at some point she would be ready to return to EastEnders, but sadly the time didn't seem right for her return, until now!
News broke yesterday that Janine Butcher will be returning to Walford later this year as part of a huge storyline, and there's no doubt she'll bring her destructive behaviour with her. But why is she returning?
It has been well speculated in the press that Maisie Smith (Tiffany Baker) will be leaving the soap later this year when her contract with EastEnders comes to an end, so Janine could be involved in her niece's exit storyline.
Patsy Palmer revealed recently that her character Bianca was meant to return last year, but the pandemic put an end to that. Maybe 2021 could also see Bianca's return?

Viewers will also remember Janine and Whitney were very close, in-laws in fact. Married to Whitney's brother Ryan. Viewers have been speculating if he could be another returning character later this year.
Another possibility is that she could be the one to finally put a stop to Gray Atkins. Could Whitney reach out to Janine for help getting rid of Gray?
Janine has currently killed two of her husbands, could she be about to make Gray her third?
