When will EastEnders' Gray Atkins be Caught?

It's safe to say some of you are not happy that Gray Atkins is still strolling about Walford after knocking off three much loved characters. We decided to look at when the murderer is likely to be caught out.

When Gray was revealed to viewers as an abuser of his wife Chantelle, the storyline was a slow burn, and although the scenes were hard to watch, it made the whole situation a lot more realistic, because these monsters in real-life don't abuse for a few weeks, they abuse for years and even decades.

After Chantelle's tragic death, viewers were hoping to see the killer spend years behind bars, but the storyline took a turn when he covered his tracks. That is until Tina Carter discovered his dark secret.

Sadly Tina would be his next victim, and after disposing of her body, Gray turned his attentions to Whitney Dean. Unfortunately for Gray, Whitney fell for hunky market trader Kush Kazemi.

Kush was also killed at the hands of the serial killer, and although we share your frustrations with a character like Gray literally getting away with murder, we have all the faith in EastEnders to see this long running storyline come to an explosive end.

The storyline will end in one of two ways: the truth of his killings will be exposed to the Walford community, and he will have to face the wrath of everyone around him, including the families of the victims, where someone could take revenge on him or we'll see him arrested and sent down for the rest of his life.

So when are we likely to see Gray face justice over his cruel deeds? Well, we're pretty sure soap bosses have Gray's ending ready to go, but with such a huge storyline, waiting until the end of social distancing on set was the best decision.

With social distancing coming to an end, filming restrictions are now slowly being lifted which will inevitably also see the return of full-length episodes.

Also, if the writers have penned an explosive end to this storyline, production really does need to be back to pre-pandemic conditions to give it the ending it deserves.

If  this is the direction EastEnders are going, then we could expect to see Gray receive his comeuppance late autumn/early winter, but we're sure it will be worth the wait. Sadly, we can't predict if Kush will be the last of Gray's victims.
